Etowah Outfitters is not a project that just came out of nowhere. Our owner, Paul Fitzner, had a dilemma that needed to be fixed. Luckily, he found the solution for it and eventually aimed to help other people who encountered the same problem. This inspired him to come up with a business that will provide exceptional outdoor gear to all adventure seekers nationwide.

In 1991, Paul Fitzner came up with Etowah Outfitters. Since our company’s establishment, we have always focused on one thing: producing simple gear as light as durability will allow maximum functionality for the outdoors. Things continue to change in this industry, but our principle holds. Simply made gear will never let you down in times of need.

The Problem He Faced

During Paul’s teenage years, he was an addicted backpacker. His baggage was always too heavy in every adventure. He packed too much gear and toys, which led to more weight for his stuff. His backpack had turned into a three-bedroom condo in terms of mass.

What He Did

Soon enough, Paul decided to do something about his dilemma. He looked at an old pack list and immediately realized what his problem was: He tended to bring a lot of unnecessary things. This, of course, had him paying the price of carrying too much, both in terms of weight and money.

His Solution

It was simple. He started packing all the stuff that fell under the category of his needs:
